A Break from the recap: FFwd to Oregon

So Its been a busy few days Lots of errands and a ton of California footage to go through and edit, I haven't forgotten, but we had a family visit and ran into a pretty cool guy I want to introduce you to.
So first order of business after doing errands and getting our ducks all in a line was to find Andy's parents, it would have been a little easier to call them on the cell phone but its only on 2 times a year. Both those times coincide with their visits to Andy but trying to pick the day that the phone
will be on is sometimes hard. Arriving late due to layover delays we run into them outside Big Winds were we seem to run into most people, even Emily from Crissy Field. As usual when in town with the Brandt's a dinner is not just a possibility its a given so the golf course restaurant Divots was the call. Leave it to Andy to Find the only Meat salad served on criss cross french fries with lettuce tomato chives......as Andy celebrates his find and enjoys his healthy choice by ordering a salad, his dad Willy looks down in admiration. It should be noted that this was the first salad that Andy ever finished, ha ha ha with a little help from others.
The camp went swimmingly no really swimmingly. There is an old joke were someone says watch out for the hole, and the other person walking in the water pretends to fall into a hole and leaves his hat floating in the water. Well...I tried that and the current was so strong it actually took me to a deep spot I was not expecting, leaving me to try and swim in flip flops and a hat in my mouth, the joke was definitely on me. Camp went well for the most part except for one thing although everyone had fun and
actually learned some great new skills. Despite the obvious problem with the conditions of the day which you might notice in this picture, of Wells Island. After a great day of camp, some burgers and beer where in order and along the way we ran/"walked" into someone doing something pretty cool. Mike a 17 year old and a friend are walking cross country for M.A.D.D. [mothers against drunk driving]. Pretty awEsome considering I hardly want to walk to the end of the street let alone cross country. After driving cross country which I feel is totally brutal, to "walk" into someone hiking pretty much the same drive we make twice a year really puts our cross country drive in perspective. So if you want to check out what he's up to or what they are doing go to discoverUSA.wordpress.com or if your interested in supporting his tour. We wish him well, and maybe we will run into him later [well I hope we won't run into him considering we will be driving cross country] but you know what I mean.
videoOk sorry but that was the real reason for interrupting the normal recap of California, it will now resume, but I figured you guys might want to check out a completely different way to explore America with another type of cause.
